My parents are most likely getting rid of my cat tomorrow. At least that is what my sister said. This picture is sitting on my desk at school. I have already cried once. This sucks. I’ve had her since I was in, like, 5th grade. She won two cat shows through 4H, and in my middle school years was probably my best friend. She will be nine on October 2.

Losing a pet is hard. Two of mine died last year. Our Brittany Spaniel, Lucy, who I had since the first grade, and the adopted mutt Peaches, who was only a few years younger. Trust me, if your cat is old, sick, or both, and is in any kind of pain, it’s best to let it go. If not, don’t let them make the mistake of getting rid of it. Cherish your pets while they’re still here.
